We’re thrilled to announce that the Causey band has been awarded a $2,500 Power to Play grant from Alabama Power Foundation! 💡🥁🎷
This amazing support will help us get new instruments and equipment. The Power to Play program supports music, arts, and athletic programs in Alabama schools and helps students shine both inside and outside the classroom.

We are so proud of all our students who competed in our school spelling bee today!
🏆 Our 1st Place Winner was Tamara Altaan for the second year in a row! Her championship word was PROGNOSTICATE.
🥈 2nd Place Alternate was Kimberly Campbell, who is alternate for the second time in her middle school career!
🎁 Tamara received a $50 Amazon gift card, and Kimberly received a $25 Amazon gift card — big thanks to Causey PTSA for providing the prizes!
📣 A special thank you to:
• Mrs. Shuford for calling the words
• Mrs. McDonald (Speech Teacher) and Mrs. Amy Donovan (Central Office) for serving as judges
• Mrs. Jameson for organizing the spelling bee each year

🐾 📚 👩🏼🏫 Mrs. Guillory's 7th Grade Civics classes started their Responsibility Projects this week. 🎒✨
Students were each given a paper bag to decorate and personalize — with their name included somewhere on it. They’ll keep their bags for three weeks and then bring them back to see what condition they’re in.
Will their bags come back neat and intact? Will they return in pieces? Or will some students forget them altogether? 👀
It’s all part of the lesson as students reflect on responsibility, ownership, and how our daily choices affect the things we’re entrusted with.
Can’t wait to see the results!
