A new school year brings new opportunities, new friendships, and new adventures. Whether you're a returning Tiger or joining the Causey family for the first time, our faculty and staff are ready to make this a successful and memorable year for every student.
📚 First Day Information • Student entry begins at 6:50 AM.
• All students will enter through the doors near the gym.
• Students will report directly to homeroom upon arrival. It will be helpful if students know their homeroom teacher's name and room number before arriving.
• If a student is unsure of their homeroom location, don't worry! There will be plenty of staff members throughout campus ready to help.
• The tardy bell rings at 7:15 AM. Students arriving after 7:15 AM will need to check in through the front office.
🚗 Morning Carline Procedures • All parent vehicles must enter through the Jeff Hamilton Road entrance.
• Parents may not park and walk students into the building.
• Students should remain in the vehicle until reaching the designated drop-off area and then exit independently.
• Please review the attached carline map before arriving on Monday morning.
🚌 Afternoon Transportation • Before arriving Monday, please make sure your student knows how they will be getting home.
• Bus riders should know their bus number and bus slot before the end of the school day.
• Dismissal begins at 2:15 PM, and all students should be picked up by 2:40 PM.
✅ All phones must be locked in Yondr pouches before entering the building.
✅ Clear bookbags only
✅ No AirPods or other personal electronic devices

The program provides a safe and supportive environment where students can receive homework assistance, participate in STEM enrichment, enjoy recreational activities, and build friendships. Daily snacks and dinner are included.
Registration is $25, and weekly rates begin at $75 for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Child Care South assistance is accepted. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register early.

If you missed on-site registration this week, please make plans to attend the make-up registration session on Wednesday, August 5, between 8:30 and 10:30. Completing registration before school starts will ensure that your child has a schedule on the first day of school. If you have any questions, please contact the school at 221-2060.
Causey Middle School has water bottle filling stations located throughout campus. Students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to campus each day. However, to protect all electronic and student devices, water bottles must have a screw-top lid and may not have a straw. Water bottles may only contain water; no other liquids may be inside students’ water bottles.
At Causey Middle School, our goal is to provide every student with a learning environment where they can stay focused, engaged, and successful. This school year, we will continue to implement the requirements of Alabama's FOCUS Act which limits student use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day.
Causey Middle School students may use Yondr pouches to safely and securely store their cell phones throughout the school day. Students will keep their phones with them, but the devices will remain securely locked in the pouch until dismissal. Note that students found to be in possession of their device are subject to disciplinary action even if the device is turned off.
Yondr pouches will be available for purchase during registration for $25.
We know that strong schools are built on strong partnerships with our families, and we appreciate your support as we work together to create a positive learning environment where our students can thrive.

📢 Updated Cell Phone Policy for 2026–2027 School Year📱
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share important district updates regarding student cell phone use and campus safety expectations.
In May 2025, Alabama passed the FOCUS Act, which prohibits the use of smartphones and other wireless devices in public schools. This includes smartwatches, personal laptops/iPads, and similar devices.
📱What this means for students:
All personal devices must be turned off and stored away during the school day.
MCPSS requires the use of a Yondr pouch for any device brought onto campus.
🔒 Yondr Pouch Requirement:
Beginning in 2026–2027, families who want their child to keep their device with them during the day must purchase a Yondr pouch ($25).
Devices will remain locked in the pouch throughout the school day.
Students who do not have a pouch must leave devices at home or off campus.
Lost or damaged pouches must be replaced by the student/family.
👉 Keeping a phone in a Yondr pouch is considered a privilege, not a requirement.

Students must use clear, transparent bookbags (no mesh, color-tinted, solid-backed, or opaque bags).

✅ New Students: Create an account and complete enrollment online
📌 Important reminders:
• Registration must be completed online
• Two current proofs of residency are required each year
• 📤 Proofs of residency must be uploaded before submitting registration
⚠️ If proofs of residency are not uploaded, you will be required to bring them to in-person registration, where they will be scanned manually—this may result in longer wait times.
